Our story
Part 1 – A New Beginning
Our story starts back in 2022. When we heard from Simon Padalka, a guitar builder we deeply admired, that he was closing his workshop in Russia and starting a new chapter as master builder at Dingwall Guitars in Canada, it felt like the end of an era. Simon had earned his reputation as a master craftsman through precision woodworking and intricate inlays, creating the bold, modern designs that defined Padalka Guitars alongside his partner, Daria. With the move to Canada, Simon decided to completely renew his lineup, discontinuing all earlier models. But that gave us an idea: could we find a way to give those existing models a new life? We asked Simon if we could buy the discontinued designs in order to preserve and revive them, and he redirected us to Daria who was the concept creator for most of those models and that decision was up to her.
We assembled a team ready to take on the challenge and began shaping the plan. Daria had a few key conditions: everything had to be done in style, with uncompromising quality, a strong sense of integrity, and up to the Padalka Guitars standards, all while avoiding overseas mass production. After many conversations, we refined the details together, shared our vision, and agreed on the path forward. To our relief, Simon was also supportive of the idea and everyone felt proud of the direction we were taking. And just like that, the next chapter began. Today, we are excited to share that two of these iconic designs are returning: the Ceres - originally Padalka CS model and Neptune. Reintroduced with the same precision, innovation, and artistry that made them special. This relaunch isn’t just about revival; it’s about continuation. We’re honored to give these instruments a future, and we can’t wait for players around the world to experience them again.
Part 2 – The Revival
Bringing the models back was never about simply recreating the past. The goal was to honor what made them special while shaping them into the new vision we created with Daria. As the designer, Daria guided the visual side, and together we stayed true to the original concepts while experimenting with different shapes, headstocks, configurations, and a wild range of colors. Our aim was to create instruments that felt bold yet accessible to most players, all while preserving that unmistakable vibe of its predecessors. The result is a collection that carries the DNA of the originals but with renewed energy. These guitars are continuations, proving that strong designs can evolve, grow, and be ready for a new future.
Part 3 – A New Chapter of Collaboration
Reviving Daria’s designs revealed something bigger: Infinia could be more than a platform for honoring the past, it could become a home for visionary designers to create instruments they couldn’t within the limits of their own brands. A place where bold ideas, even those that don’t fit neatly into an existing catalog, could take shape and come to life.
That vision led us to Sheldon Dingwall, the legendary founder of Dingwall Guitars. Known worldwide for his groundbreaking multiscale basses, the best B in the industry,Sheldon has redefined what a bass can be. But beyond basses, he’s long carried the skill and imagination to push into new territory.
When we invited Sheldon to bring his vision to Infinia, he embraced the idea immediately. Together, we explored what a Dingwall inspired guitar could be. Sheldon took the spark of our idea, refined it into a concept, and with his team of master builders, crafted a stunning one-off build that showed us what was possible. The result is the Titan: a bold new guitar that now stands proudly within the Infinia lineup. More than an instrument, it embodies what Infinia is all about, giving legendary designers the freedom to create beyond boundaries, and bringing their creations to life for players everywhere.
Part 4 – Shaping the future
Our first lineup is only the beginning, a foundation for everything Infinia is set to become. For us, the path forward is wide open. We’re exploring new collaborations with visionary designers while deepening the partnerships that already define who we are. At launch, our three core models - the Ceres, Neptune, and Titan - will be available in six- and seven-string versions, with the possibility of eight-string builds if players demand it.
A major milestone ahead is the introduction of the Masterbuild line. Crafted entirely in-house by our master luthier Maikel van der Wel, these instruments will redefine what modern, high-performance guitars can be. No limits on specifications. No shortcuts in craftsmanship. Every detail, from woods and finishes to hardware and design, will be chosen by the player, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind instrument. The future of Infinia is about innovation, collaboration, and creating instruments without compromise. We’ve just brought it into orbit.
Founded in 2023 by Brian van Zwietering, Daan van Dijk, and Maikel van der Wel, Infinia works with leading designers to create guitars that push boundaries. Collaborations now include Simon and Daria Padalka, reviving their iconic Padalka models, and Sheldon Dingwall, who designed an exclusive Infinia original.
At Infinia, we believe in local craftsmanship. We do not engage in overseas production, as every guitar is meticulously built with care, using only the finest materials and sustainable practices here in Europe. This ensures that each instrument is not only beautiful, but also ethically produced.
Our guitars are crafted for musicians who desire a profound, personal connection with their instrument. Each model is built to the highest standards, pushing the limits of design, playability, and comfort.
